Nathan Tomkins

Nathan Tomkins isn’t just another racer tearing up the track; he’s the heartbeat of Tomkins Motorsport, a legacy spanning over three generations. The Tomkins racing dynasty began in the 1960s with Nathan’s grandfather, Eric Tomkins, who piloted the R2 Formula 500 Car to victory across the state for an impressive 16 years. Carrying on the family tradition, Eric’s sons, Glynn and Michael, blazed their own trails in Speedway racing, earning accolades at the national level and solidifying the Tomkins Motorsport name on podiums nationwide.

Today, Nathan and his cousin Rhys represent the latest chapter in the Tomkins Motorsport saga. Based in the Lockyer Valley, QLD, just outside Brisbane, Nathan and his teammate Bri command an action-packed calendar, with Nathan at the helm of the iconic Q3 car. Their adventures unfold on the Tomkins Motorsport YouTube Channel, offering fans a glimpse into the world of Speedway racing through vlog-style race day videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and gripping in-car action.

Behind the wheel, Nathan is a force to be reckoned with, demonstrating that the Holden 253 engine can hold its own against the formidable 350 Chev’s. With consistent top-five finishes and numerous podium appearances along the East Coast of Australia, Nathan’s prowess is undeniable. His achievements include a commendable 3rd place in the 2021/22 Queensland Title, along with honors for Best Presented Team and Multi-Year Best Presented Car.

Yet, Nathan’s ambitions reach even higher. With plans to transition to a 350 Chev engine in the AMCA Nationals Class in the coming seasons, he is determined to challenge the best in the country. Additionally, his sights are set on the high-speed world of Super Sedans, showcasing his unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and chasing excellence on the racetrack.
